Alfatcargo is a SAS based in Dakar, specialising in charter cargo flights for its launch phase. Assane Touré, one of the founders of Alfatcargo and a businessman active in the agricultural sector, quickly identified a lack of innovative and accessible air freight transport services in West Africa.

In the course of his work, Mr Touré, a keen aviator, was faced with a crisis requiring the urgent shipment of over 120 tonnes of seed to West Africa before the rainy season, which made sea transport impossible. After a particularly difficult process, Mr Touré managed to organise the transport by chartering a Boeing 747 through a London-based company.

Against a backdrop of economic growth and the development of a modern consumer society, it is essential to fill this gap to support the growth of new industrial and service sectors in West Africa, which require high-performance supply chains.
